The 2nd<\/sup> International Conference on Highly Flexible Slender Structures will be held between 22nd<\/sup> and 26th<\/sup> of September 2025 at Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics ITWM<\/a>, Kaiserslautern, Germany. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The distinctive focus of the conference is on structural systems and its parts or elements which are both (i) highly flexible<\/em>, i.e. exposed to large overall structural deformation and (ii) slender<\/em>, i.e. characterised by a geometry with at least one structural dimension considerably smaller than the other two as in the case of non-linear rod and shell models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The highly successful 1st<\/sup> edition of this conference (HFSS 2023<\/a>, 25-29 September 2023, Rijeka) took place during the closing stage of an MSCA Innovative Training Network on highly flexible slender structures for industrial applications THREAD<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Local Organising Committee would like to thank all participants, organisers of mini-symposia and authors for attending the conference, sharing your work and lively contributions to discussions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three special issues in Springer journals (Multibody System Dynamics, Acta Mechanica and Journal of Mathematics in Industry<\/em>) related to the topics of the conference are open for submissions. Further information about publication connected to the conference in these collections can be found here<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
