{"id":932,"date":"2024-04-18T14:05:31","date_gmt":"2024-04-18T14:05:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hfss.uniri.hr\/?page_id=932"},"modified":"2024-04-18T14:05:31","modified_gmt":"2024-04-18T14:05:31","slug":"hfss-2023","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hfss.uniri.hr\/?page_id=932","title":{"rendered":"HFSS 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>International Conference on Highly Flexible Slender Structures will be held between 25&nbsp;and 29 of September 2023 at the <a href=\"https:\/\/uniri.hr\/en\/home\/\">University of Rijeka<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/gradri.uniri.hr\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/gradri.uniri.hr\/\" target=\"_blank\">Faculty of Civil Engineering<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Rijeka\" data-type=\"URL\" target=\"_blank\">Rijeka<\/a>, Croatia. The conference will take place during the closing stage of the MSCA Innovative Training Network <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/thread-etn.eu\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/thread-etn.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\">THREAD<\/a> on highly flexible slender structures for industrial applications<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The distinctive focus of the conference is on structural systems and their parts or elements which are both (i) <em>highly flexible<\/em>, i.e. exposed to large overall structural deformation and (ii) <em>slender<\/em>, i.e. characterised by a geometry with one structural dimension considerably larger than the other two. The conference aims to attract wider research community working in the areas of mechanical modelling, mathematical formulations and numerical methods for highly flexible slender structures. Specifically, it is open to both engineers and mathematicians brought together around major challenges in theoretical and numerical analysis as well as industrial applications and open-source simulation software development for such structures. The topics of interest involve advanced concepts in experimental and theoretical structural mechanics, contact problems and non-smooth dynamics, computational geometry, discretisation methods and geometric numerical integration including the newest advances in numerical formulations on non-linear manifolds, which will help usher the next generation of virtual prototyping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prospective authors are invited to register and submit an abstract by <s>1 March 2023<\/s> <s>1 April 2023<\/s> <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">15 April 2023<\/mark><\/strong>, using the provided templates.
